Fulham vs Everton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 22nd November 2020
Kick off at 12noon GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Scott Parker’s Fulham have been one of the poorest sides in the Premier League and they will face a tough home game against Everton on Sunday lunchtime.

Still there might be some hope within the Fulham ranks yet as they won their first game of the season at the beginning of the month beating West Bromwich Albion here 2-0. However the Cottagers followed that up by losing 1-0 at West Ham although they were very close to securing a draw.

Fulham come into this game in 17th place with 4 points and their form is not good having mustered up 4 points from their last 15, although it was so poor beforehand that they have improved. At home Fulham have lost 3 of their four matches and are conceding on average 2 goals a game at Craven Cottage.

Everton were on top of the league and sitting pretty last month but the club have nosedived after losing their last 3 games in a row. They are now 5 points off the pace from 1st position but if they can start their recovery this weekend they can easily get back into the mix.

Everton’s last game ended in a 3-1 defeat at home against Manchester United. It felt like a disappointing result given how unstable United have been this season and that game followed defeats against Newcastle and Southampton. It means that this match feels like a must win for the club.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have lost their last two games in a row away from home but they will welcome back Richarlison from suspension, and it does feel that they have missed the Brazilian. Depending on results Everton could move up to 5th place with a win.

Team News:

Fulham: Aboubakar Kamara is currently serving a 3 game suspension and is ruled out of this match. Mario Lemina is only rated as 50/50 for this game after a knock.

Everton: Allan remains a doubt after a muscle injury on international duty and he will be assessed. Seamus Coleman has suffered another hamstring injury on international duty although it is thought to be minor and he could face a test. Fabian Delph has a knock but has been reported to be ready for this match. Richarlison is back from suspension but picked up a minor ankle injury on international duty, but he is being tipped to be fine for this encounter.

Fulham vs Everton Head to Head:

The last time the two teams met here in 2019 Fulham won 2-0 that was Fulham’s first victory over Everton in the league in 10 years.

There is a 70% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Everton have scored 10 goals past Fulham in their last four league meetings.

Fulham vs Everton Prediction:

Fulham need the win to escape the clutches of the relegation zone but there is much more pressure on Everton to deliver the goods. Will an early morning kick off favour the away side? It could be a problem away from home. Also Everton have some niggling injury worries, and it is a blow if the club have lost Allan, even for one game.

Everton’s away form and overall form is a concern, and if this was a home game one would expect a straight forward victory, but this could be a much trickier game than Everton could count on. The club will be made to work really hard for victory. They have the players to do so of course and they will need to step up.

Fulham will be expected to lose this game and that could play into their hands, and we expect a very close match. This match is about recovery for Everton and looking ahead to tougher fixtures over the next few weeks.
