Chelsea vs Wolves: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 26th July 2020
Kick off at 4pm BST
Venue: Stamford Bridge

Match Preview:

What an interesting season it has been for Chelsea and Frank Lampard. Lampard started off slow in his job and had to adjust very quick, and some of Chelsea’s early season form was worrying. By Christmas Lampard had turned that round, and with quality like Timo Werner coming in next season the future really does look bright for the Blues.

Form has been good as Champions League football beckons and there is a lot of confidence throughout the club and they will need to try and win this game to guarantee Champions League football next season. Chelsea have really adapted to playing at home now and this set of players look comfortable here and they are scoring lots of goals too.

Wolves will fight for the win as they are chasing a Europa League place but this is a tough fixture for them. However their away form is pretty much equal to their home form. Indeed the club has the 5th best away record in the league. Overall they have been superb to watch this season only tiring a little at the end, but players such as Raul Jimenez have really impressed once again for his consistency, and he has been a real find for the club. He can score against any team in the Premier League and could be a danger for Chelsea in this game.

Team News:

Chelsea: No new injury concerns.

Wolves: No new injury concerns.

Chelsea vs Wolves Head to Head:

Last season this fixture ended 1-1.

The last time the teams met Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham scored a hat trick

Chelsea vs Wolves Prediction:

This is another game that's really tricky to predict because both teams tactics could change depending on how other other teams (Man Utd, Leicester, and Tottenham) are doing in their games. Technically Chelsea only need a draw to qualify for the Champions League because their rivals Man Utd and Leicester are playing each other, meaning only one of them can get 3 points. Wolves on the other hand could need to push for a win if Tottenham take the lead in their game. Therefore it could be that this game starts off tight and opens up later on. Tammy Abraham scored a hat-trick last time these two teams met, so it could be worth a try for anytime goalscorer if he starts, check the lineups.

Chelsea vs Wolves Betting Tips:

Half with most goals (2nd half) at 2.05

Anytime goalscorer (Tammy Abraham) at 2.25
