Arsenal vs Wolves: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 11th November 2018
Kick off at 4.30pm GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium

Match Preview:

In all competitions Arsenal have drawn 3 of their last 4 games and have lost that winning feeling. Their last game was in the Europa League where they could only draw 0-0 with Portuguese side Sporting at the Emirates. Now they return to their stadium to play Wolves in a game that the Gunners will be expected to win.

Arsenal have been a revelation under Unai Emery and are in 5th place with 23 points. They haven’t lost a game for almost 3 months but they will want all three points here as they come into this game on the back of two draws. The big news for them is the injury to Danny Welbeck who went off on a stretcher in their Europa League match.

Wolves are going through their poorest patch this season after losing their last 3 games in a row. Only one of those defeats was to a top 4 side and this recent poor form has seen the club move down to 11th place and 8 points behind the Gunners. Wolves have won 2 games away from home this season, but in the five that they have played they have only scored 3 goals, only Cardiff have less with 2.

Team News:

Arsenal: Danny Welbeck has a suspected broken ankle and will miss this game. Stephan Lichsteiner could also miss the game with a muscle injury he picked up in midweek. Nacho Monreal is expected back but there has been no further news on the player

Wolves: Diogo Jota has a knock but could be assessed ahead of this game, other than that Wolves have a fully fit squad

Arsenal vs Wolves Head to Head:

The teams have not played at Arsenal since 2011 and that game ended 1-1.

Wolves have no wins at Arsenal this century.

Based on recent matches there is just a 30% chance of over 2.5 goals.

Arsenal vs Wolves Prediction:

Arsenal may have to work hard for it but they will win this game and power on. The Gunners have an agenda and the players are working hard for Emery to win the games they often would have drawn or lost in Wenger’s final years. Arsenal are meeting Wolves at their weakest in terms of form and we expect Arsenal to grab some goals and win this game comfortably in the end. Wolves are back to the drawing board and the international break might just be coming at the right time for them.
