Arsenal vs Huddersfield: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 8th December 2018
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium

Match Preview:

It’s now 20 games in all competitions for Arsenal undefeated and under Unai Emery they have turned their mentality around. In midweek they went to Old Trafford and showed some of their defensive naivety, but so too United in a game that ended 2-2.

The Gunners gave up a top 4 place again but there is only a couple of points in it and they can challenge both Tottenham and Chelsea for a Champions League place. All of this in Emery’s debut season only means good news for the long suffering Arsenal fans and they will be expected to win at the weekend with ease.

Arsenal have lost just 1 game at the Emirates which of course was on the first day of the season against champions Manchester City. Since then they have been very strong and are scoring on average 2 goals a game at home.

Huddersfield found some form late last month but come into this game having lost back to back matches. Those defeats came against Brighton and Bournemouth and by the same scoreline of 2-1.

The Terriers will be rank outsiders to win this game and are in 17th place, just one point separates them from Southampton and the bottom three. Away from home they have 1 win from 7 games and have shipped at least 3 goals to the likes of Watford and Leicester, this on all accounts looks like it will be a long Saturday afternoon for David Wagner’s team.

Team News:

Arsenal: A blow for Arsenal is Rob Holding’s knee injury in the 2-2 draw with Manchester United in midweek. He could be out for some time. Mesut Ozil still has an ongoing back problem but will be assessed ahead of the game. Aaron Ramsey has a knock but should be available to play.

Huddersfield: Philip Billing is suspended for this game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. Steve Mounie is serving a 3 game match ban for his sending off v Brighton. Abdelamid Sabiri will miss this trip after his shoulder injury

Arsenal vs Huddersfield Head to Head:

Last season Arsenal won this game 5-0.

In the 4 games that the clubs have played each other over the past decade Arsenal have won them all.

There is a 75% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Arsenal vs Huddersfield Prediction:

Arsenal will win this game and win it well. The problem is that they are around 1.25 to do so and there isn’t much value to be had there. Instead we will concentrate on the goals market. The Gunners have scored 6 goals against Tottenham and Manchester United in their last two games, this without play maker Mesut Ozil. Arsenal are in the best place mentality for a few years and Huddersfield’s job will be just to keep the score respectable.

Arsenal vs Huddersfield Betting Tips:

Arsenal to score 3+ goals at 2.10

Anytime goalscorer: Alexandre Lacazette at 1.72

Correct Score Half Time: Arsenal to be winning 1-0 or 2-0 at 3.10 and 6.00
