England Premier League
Monday 17th September 2018
Kick off at 8pm BST
Venue: St Mary's Stadium
Match Preview:
The Monday night football game will be between Southampton and Brighton and both teams will be looking for their second wins of the season.
The Saints are in 13th place and secured a vital win just before the international break when they went to Crystal Palace and won 2-0. It was important as it was their first win of the season and also as it came after back to back defeats against Leicester and Everton.
Brighton are in 14th and could leap frog their hosts with a win here. They have just 1 win this season which ironically came against Manchester United, otherwise it has been a slow start for the team.
Whilst Brighton look decent at home they look quite lost away and don’t seem to have adapted their away tactics well, almost looking too negative and this could therefore be a difficult night for the side.
Team News:
Southampton: Shane Long has a good chance to make the squad after suffering a toe injury at the beginning of the month. Charlie Austin has made a quicker than expected recovery from a hamstring injury and will be assessed ahead of this game
Brighton: Florin Andone is set to miss this game with a lack of match fitness, Pascal Grob is recovering from an ankle injury
