Tottenham vs Arsenal: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 28th April 2024
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Match Preview:

What a north London derby this promises to be. Tottenham need to win to keep up with Aston Villa for a top 4 finish but they would love nothing more than to hurt Arsenal’s title chances by winning this game. Tottenham are in 5th place and trail Villa by 9 points, however it is important to note that the club has 3 games in hand, so could be all level if they were to win those. Fourth place is hardly lost yet however Tottenham will have a huge obstacle to climb to beat Arsenal.

Tottenham’s form has been quite erratic just check out their 4-0 loss away to Newcastle last week, however at home their season tells a different story. Here they have won 12 games from 16 played although because they haven’t drawn yet have lost four times however the club has won their last 3 home games in a row beating the likes of Luton, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal will be thinking that the league title is between themselves and Manchester City now and after Liverpool dropped another two points on Saturday against West Ham Arsenal come into this game in 1st place and have 77 points and are 2 points clear of Liverpool with this game to play. Arsenal were surprised to lose at home to Aston Villa a few weeks ago but take that result out and they have been pretty sublime and have won 4 of their last five games. The club's latest victory was a fantastic 5-0 win over Chelsea and the Gunners last away game ended in victory over Brighton. Indeed currently Arsenal has the best away record in the league where they have won 36 points from 51. They have scored the most goals away from home with 39 so far and have the best defence on the road conceding just 11.

Team News:

Tottenham: Oliver Skipp will miss out with a knock but could be back next week. There are long term injuries for Manor Soloman, Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster and Destiny Udogie

Arsenal: The club has no new injuries and only Jurrien Timber who has missed practically the whole season remains a doubt. He has recovered from a knee injury but has fitness issues and isn’t thought that he will be risked in this game but is very much near to joining up with the team

Tottenham vs Arsenal Head to Head:

Last season Arsenal won this fixture 2-0.

Arsenal have won 4 of the last six meetings.

There is a 70% chance to see both teams to score.

Tottenham vs Arsenal Prediction:

Expect cards and that should be one market to back. As for the game we haven’t been quite convinced by Tottenham this season although they have managed to win 75% of their home games you just wonder if the club have that bite. They remain unpredictable and in that that means that Tottenham hasn’t changed- and we were promised it this season. Arsenal remain strong and confident but we feel looking at the goals market may be the safer option in what could be an unpredictable game.

This is a game where Tottenham’s Heung Min-Son has risen to the occasion and we expect goals and a really entertaining match. This should be a classic Premier League game and a great if perhaps controversial at times advert for the game.
