Match Preview:
Luton have to seize their moment as time runs down on them in their effort to stay in the Premier League. This weekend could be huge for the club as their two rivals that are currently keeping them down in Everton and Nottingham Forest meet on Sunday. Victory would put Luton into 16th place at least for a day and would really boost their chances of staying up; recent form hasn’t always seen the side play poorly but they have still been defeated three times from their past four games. In Between losses against Arsenal and Manchester City which in truth would have been expected, Rob Edwards side beat Bournemouth 2-1 at home, and it is at home where the club must deliver maximum points.
Of course Luton take on a side who are not safe either in Brentford even if the Bees come into this game 7 points clear. Their win over Sheffield United last time out was a big step in the right direction but Thomas Frank’s side are very capable of going on a poor run which we have seen. But like their hosts this is a big match, if they win here you feel that they will be safe so there is so much on the line and why this game will have a lot of attention on it. The Bees have really struggled away from home with just 3 wins and 11 losses and just 1 point earned from their last 15 on offer which was a 3-3 draw against Aston Villa.
Team News:
Luton: Elijah Adebayo, Teden Mengi, Albert Sambi-Lokonga and Chiedozie Ogbene could all be assessed after coming back to training. Amarii Bell, Tom Lockyer, Jacob Brown, Marvelous Nakamba, Gabriel Osho and Daniel Potts are all out long term.
Brentford: Kristoffer Ajer is being tipped to return after suffering a minor calf injury but will be assessed. There are long term injuries for Joshua Dasilva, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Christian Norgaard and Ben Mee.

The clubs last played each other in this fixture in 2020 in the Championship in which Brentford won 3-0.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Brentford won 3-1.
Luton have won just once in their seven meetings with Brentford.
Luton vs Brentford Prediction:
This is a cup final for Luton but in truth it is one of many cup finals from now until the end of the season. A loss would mean a boost for either Nottingham Forest or Everton but they have penalty appeals still to be heard. Luton have a recent poor record over Brentford but the Bees have not travelled well this season. Luton need to bring their best game out and Brentford are certainly a side that can be beaten. It comes down to a little luck but more of how much does Luton want this? This weekend of course is magnified by the fact that Forest and Everton will take on each other, Luton need to bring their best game on Saturday.
This is a fixture that can have goals in it and we fully expect to see quite an open game, Luton need to come forward and create chances. Brentford will probably be safe this season no matter how this game ends. The motivation lies with the home side but they need to show a bullish aggression and more so focus for the entire game. We have lost count how many points Luton has dropped in the final moments of games this season. Despite all of this they still have a chance to stay up, but this game will reveal to us if they are going in the right direction.
