Match Preview:
Burnley pulled off one of their best results of the season against Chelsea at the weekend as their never say die attitude paid off and they came back to draw 2-2 away from home. This was a statement result given how Chelsea have slowly improved this season and a poor result for the Blues considering. Burnley are still in 19th place but have crept closer to Luton over the past few weeks and only 4 points are in it. With goal difference Burnley are 5 points from safety and in a much better position to try and fight for safety than they were a month ago, of course Nottingham Forest being hit with a 4 point penalty for FFP charges has helped and the question remains can the Clarets really go for it and pull off what would be one of the great escapes.
Burnley’s heroics against Chelsea will count for nothing if they lose at home against Wolves and it is at home where Vincent Kompany’s side need to win games and achieve maximum points. Form for Burnley is good, they have managed to go their last 3 games unbeaten and that is fantastic for a side in 19th place in April. The club has managed to win 5 points from their last 9 on offer and at home form has improved with just two defeats from their past five- that may not sound great but it is for Burnley. The Clarets won their last game at home as they beat Brentford 2-1 and that was important given that they had lost their previous two games in a row.
Wolves are in 10th place and trying to finish in a European position although with so many other teams bunched up together that will not be an easy task. At the weekend Wolves went down 2-0 away against Aston Villa and that was their 2nd defeat from their last three games. There have been 3 wins from their last five so there is a lot of quality in this side but some inconsistencies are creeping up on the team. On the road the club had gone 3 games without defeat but come into this game having lost their last two against Aston Villa as we have mentioned and also against Newcastle. In the clubs last two away games they have failed to score and conceded 5 in the process. Overall Wolves' majority result away from home has been defeat with 8 so far from 15 games played and five wins.
Team News:
Burnley: Lorenz Assignon is suspended, Jordan Beyer remains out with a knock, Ameen Al Dakhil is out for unspecified reasons as is Han-Noah Massengo. Aaron Ramsey and Nathan Redmond are both out for the season with respective knee injuries
Wolves: There are no new injuries for the club but the following remain out long term; Pedro Neto and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. Craig Dawson and Hwang Hee-Chan are about 5-10 days away from a return

Burnley vs Wolves Prediction:
It has been difficult to back Burnley this season and that is for obvious reasons and we are struggling to back them to win this game also - which seems fair given that the club have the worst home record in the league. They will be coming into this game on a high- the way they came back against Chelsea having to face that quality of opposition and get a positive result tells us the players will be in good spirits for this game. This is the chance for Burnley, when you don’t pick up points in these type of games you can have no complaints if you go down. Can Burnley buck a trend and make one of the greatest fightbacks in Premier League history and stay up? We are not convinced and think the safer option is to go with Wolves and cover the draw on the refund.
