Brentford vs Brighton: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League

Kick off at 7:30pm BST
Venue: Brentford Community Stadium

Match Preview:

How funny football can be- Brentford’s game against Manchester United had reached the 90 minute mark and at 0-0 it seemed as if the game would end in a draw despite Brentford being the much better side. The game still ended in a draw at full time but it was 1-1. Brentford had gone behind- where is the justice in football? But there it was a minute later when the Bees justified their play and equalised, with football you never know what can happen next.

The draw at the weekend was a big point for Thomas Frank’s side because Everton in 16th lost and so did Luton and Brentford come into this week 5 points clear of the bottom three, it isn’t ideal but it is another point to safety. Frank’s side have not been in good form and yet their performance against United is going to have people thinking that the team are on the right path now and could be a danger in this game.

Brighton are in 9th place and they lost their 2nd game in their last three against Liverpool at the weekend. Perhaps being away from home this was an expected result and at least it was a close one losing out 2-1 in the end but the Seagulls were leading and would have been disappointed. European hopes could go either way for Roberto De Zerbi’s side but the Liverpool defeat has not really made a difference in a negative way with some other clubs around them also dropping points. Whilst Brighton has 42 points only 15 of them have come away from home, they have lost 8 from 15 games on the road and have lost 4 of their last 5 games on the road.

Team News:

Brentford vs Brighton Prediction:

This game looks like being a close one but after the positive display at Old Trafford it is tempting at very good odds to take on Brentford. This is such a big opportunity for the home side to grab 3 points which at this stage of the season would feel like 6 and if Luton as expected were to lose on the same night against Arsenal then Brentford would go 8 points clear of the bottom three and would be feeling almost safe for this season. Brighton came here last season and lost and whilst the Seagulls remain a well set up and strong side one has to wonder as we get to the final stretch of the season if all of the clubs injuries which are mounting up are going to affect them? We think Brentford come here on the front foot and this could be a home win.
