Nottm Forest vs Wolves: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 13th April 2024
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: City Ground

Match Preview:

Nottingham Forest like Everton have been hampered this season by a points deduction but win here and if Luton have lost as expected away to Manchester City then Forest look back in the driving seat-for now. Indeed Forest would go 3 points clear. As it stands Forest enter this game in 17th place with the same number of points (25) as Luton. Last weekend the club lost away against Tottenham but before then they had managed to go 3 games unbeaten which included draws over Luton and Crystal Palace and a victory against Fulham. You get the feeling that Forest will be happy to return home but they face a tricky opponent, however at home in recent games the club has managed to lose just one game and one has to wonder if they are building something significant in the final hurdle of the season.

Wolves are in 11th place and they are chasing a final European place and have a genuine chance but there are so many teams vying for a limited number of places. You get the feeling that with the way the club's season has gone they will probably end up missing out on a European finish but it only takes a run of 2-3 games to change minds. Current form though has only seen 1 point won from the last 9 and their last win which came against Fulham was over a month ago. The clubs majority result away from home is the loss with 8 so far and they would rank in 10th place based on away form alone. Wolves have not managed to win on the road for almost two months.

Team News:

Nottingham Forest: Morgan Gibbs-White has a knock and will be assessed, Nuno Tavares is still struggling with a muscle injury and has no fixed return date. Willy Boly and Taiwo Awoniyi are both out also with muscle injuries and this could be for long term

Wolves: Rayan Ait-Nouri will be assessed for a calf injury, Pedro Neto is out until May with a hamstring injury

Nottm Forest vs Wolves Head to Head:

Last season the clubs drew 1-1 in this fixture, indeed the last 3 meetings in a row have all ended in a 1-1 draw.

It’s been 11 years since Nottingham Forest beat Wolves at home in a league match.

There is an 80% chance to see under 2.5 goals.

Nottm Forest vs Wolves Prediction:

Let’s quickly divert to Everton- who are not playing until Monday evening but their relegation battle rivals have become Luton and Nottingham Forest. The Toffees will believe that all should stay the same for Luton as they have to play Manchester City away from home, but Nottingham Forest could really put Everton into a lot of danger here if they win this game, it’s like opening up a trap door and all blue eyes will be on this game.

Of course punters may be placing correct score 1-1 bets to see if that result will repeat for a fourth time in a row and while we believe that we are in for a very close game we will tip Forest to get all three points. The club has struggled in the last ten years to do just that but this weekend with their relegation rivals having very tough games on their hands represents a great chance to move forward and leave those rivals behind, a small but significant gap could open up, at home you can’t let these chances go by.
