Newcastle vs Liverpool: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 26th July 2020
Kick off at 4pm BST
Venue: St. James' Park

Match Preview:

Newcastle will want to have a positive result in their last game of the season though they will be playing the champions, and this will be tough on the Magpies. Their overall home form is has been decent but they have recorded just too many draws, but their recent record means that they aren’t easy to beat at home. Excluding the last 5 games which maybe haven't been fully commited, the restart has been a positive time for Newcastle and there should be calls to keep manager Steve Bruce on for next season, he has had one of his most successful campaigns in his career and it is clear that the players are happy to work under him.

Liverpool don't have a whole lot to play for in this game, Man City's points record is not possible, but they do have the chance to better their total from last season by a couple of points if they win, but by their standards they understandably look quite tired now. The Reds have the best away record in the league but their recent form away from home is not good and maybe the Magpies will be able to take advantage of that.

However as champions manager Jurgen Klopp will be demanding that his players get a good result here and finish the season on a high and Liverpool certainly have the team on their day to make Newcastle suffer.

Team News:

Newcastle: Sean Longstaff is nearing a return but is a doubt for this game.

Liverpool: No new injury concerns.

Newcastle vs Liverpool Prediction:

This is a tricky game to predict due to lack of incentive for both teams and also Liverpool's away record has been very up and down recently. The bookies will be expecting Liverpool to win this but at the end of the day there is very little riding on the result this could lead to the teams just enjoying their football in friendly atmospheres. However we still have to agree with the bookies, Liverpool are still a very strong team and should want to better their points total from last season, and that may just be enough incentive to win this game.

Newcastle vs Liverpool Betting Tips:
