Fulham vs Crystal Palace: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 27th April 2024
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Fulham’s form has suffered of late and the players are now dejected it is coming through in their play. They are in a phase where they can’t qualify for Europe and will not finish in the top half of the table but also are very safe from any relegation. Now they have to focus on winning their home games and putting in good displays. In their last game they were beaten 3-1 at home by Liverpool and other recent results have seen losses against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. The Cottagers have a good home record with 9 wins here and they would rank in 8th place based on home form alone but they have lost their last two games in a row at home.

For Crystal Palace they are one of the best in form sides in the league after winning their last 3 games in a row. The Eagles have overcome Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle and are in 14th place. A win here would take them onto the same points as Fulham but they would not pass them due to goal difference. This could be a good launching pad for the club though to finish on the same points as last season and a month ago that looked near on impossible. Palace have only won four games away from home so far but their fourth came in their last game as they historically beat Liverpool inflicting the Reds first league defeat at home in what has been seen as one of the shocks of the season given Liverpool were going for the league title. Palace has a 4 point advantage over 15th placed Brentford.

Team News:

Fulham: The only injury concern for Marco Silva’s side is Willian who has a minor groin injury and could well play in this game and will be assessed

Crystal Palace: Jesurun Rak-Sakyi will be assessed for a lack of match fitness. Marc Guehi and Jefferson Lerma are not due back for another ten days at least with respective knee and hamstring injuries. Rob Holding could be assessed but is unlikely to feature so soon as he struggles with a hamstring injury. There are long term injuries for Chieck Doucoure, Sam Johnstone and Matheus Franca

There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace Prediction:

These two teams are equal and that shows in their league standing so we should expect a close game. However Crystal Palace we feel have the upper hand here even if they are the away side. Fulham have lost some of their form and their last two home games and Crystal Palace are the form side. Also it is worth noting that Palace have recorded some very good results at Fulham and we are seeing an Eagles side that come into this game with a lot of confidence. This doesn’t mean that we will back the away win because these fixtures have a rather good recent return of draws but the price on the double chance for Palace covering the draw also as a possible result looks too good to turn down considering how good they have been in recent weeks.
