Crystal Palace vs Fulham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 2nd February 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Selhurst Park

Match Preview:

This is a real ‘six pointer’ game here when Crystal Palace take on Fulham at the weekend.

Palace have shown enough qualities to suggest that they will stay up this season and yet they are in 15th place and just 4 points above the relegation zone. Their last match ended in a 1-1 draw away to Southampton which was fine but The Eagles have now gone the last 3 games without a win.

This is a huge opportunity for the club to finally put some distance between the bottom three and themselves. At home though Palace have been very poor this season and in fact have the 2nd to worse record in the league with just 2 wins all season. They have lost 6 games here including their last two. The only good news is that the club are not being walked over and have conceded just 11 goals at home.

Fulham are still 19th but they have given themselves a chance thanks to a fantastic fightback against Brighton which ended in The Cottagers coming back from two goals down to win the game 4-2.

That ended a 3 game losing streak for Claudio Ranieri’s men. The only problem for Fulham is that from the 17 points they have earned all season, only 2 of those have come away from home, and they have the worst away record in the league by a country mile.

Team News:

Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha is the big loss for Palace and he is suspended for this game after his two yellow’s last weekend. Cheihkou Kouyate has what appears to be a minor ankle injury, and might be assessed ahead of the game

Fulham: Joe Bryan could miss this game with a leg injury, no updates as yet have been given on Bryan’s condition

Crystal Palace vs Fulham Head to Head:

Earlier this season Palace won the reverse fixture 2-0.

The teams have only played once at Palace since 2005 where the game ended 4-1 to Fulham.

Throughout a decades worth of games there is a 100% success rate to see over 1.5 goals.

Crystal Palace vs Fulham Prediction:

On paper Crystal Palace are the team to go for here, and despite Fulham's impressive comeback against Brighton in their last match, Fulham's form away from home is as bad as it comes, and that's the main reason we will go with what's expected and back a home win for Crystal Palace. On top of that, Palace's performances have often deserved a better result but have just lacked a goal scorer, but Fulham's defence should be able to help them out there.
