Bournemouth vs Man Utd: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 13th April 2024
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Match Preview:

Bournemouth come into this Saturday evening game as one of six clubs who are chasing final European places. Even though the club are in 12th place they are only two wins away from their goal although they will not go down as one of the favourites to claim this. Recent form had been good as they went unbeaten for four games which included 3 wins in a row which came against Luton, Everton and Crystal Palace- however last weekend the club lost away to Luton with the two sides having to play twice in a matter of weeks. Home form is much more encouraging and the Cherries have gone their last four games unbeaten almost going back two months.

Manchester United continue to frustrate and we know now that their Champions League hopes for next season are well and truly over. The best for the club will be to qualify for the Europa League and even that is in the balance if they do not pick up consistency. It’s been three games without a win which has included draws over Brentford and Liverpool and in between that a spectacular 4-3 loss at Chelsea. United has 49 points and West Ham and Newcastle are their threat and both could go past them this weekend in a worse case scenario. Away form has seen the bizarre mix of seven wins but seven losses and it’s been almost two months since they won on the road. United have also fallen 11 points behind 5th placed Aston Villa but they do have a game in hand over them.

Team News:

Bournemouth: Tyler Adams and Chris Mepham are out but nearing a return but that may not happen for another 10 days yet. Ryan Fredericks has a calf injury, Marcus Tavernier is out with a hamstring injury as is Antoine Semenyo. Luis Sinisterra is back at the end of the month as he continues to come back from a hamstring injury

Manchester United: Jonny Evans is out until the end of the month with a muscle injury, Victor Lindelof won’t return until next month as is the same with Lisandro Martinez. Marcus Rashford has a knock and will be assessed, Scott McTominay also has a knock but is likely to miss this game. Rapahel Varane is out possibly for the season with a foot injury. Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw are all out long term

Bournemouth vs Man Utd Head to Head:

Last season Manchester United won this fixture 1-0.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Bournemouth won 3-0.

3 from the last four matches have seen over 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth vs Man Utd Prediction:

Bournemouth are a great price to win this game and we think they are well worth taking on here with the draw covered on the refund. Manchester United if the correct version decides to turn up of course have the quality to win but time and again we have seen average performances from them and while they are odds on to win this game this is some value here for some punters, but away from home, we are not so sure if the risk is worth it.

We expect to see a physical game and perhaps a low scoring one too- Bournemouth need to go for this game to increase their European chances, lose here and while it is a setback for United they will have another bite of the apple next week.
