Our first selection (Asian handicap -1 Napoli) seems fairly good value odds when you consider the quality and form of both teams, and the home advantage of our selection. Napoli come into this match with a home record of 8 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss, scoring 28 goals and conceding 14, and more recently they have won 10 of their last 12 games in all competitions, so they are in very good form. Their last game was an incredible 7-1 away thrashing of Bologne, which included hat-tricks from Marek Hamsik and Dries Mertens, and with Arkadiusz Milik back from injury they are spoilt for choice regarding attacking options. Genoa on the other hand are on a terrible run of form, with 2 draws and 6 losses from their last 8 games in all competitions, which has even affected their usually strong home form, so their confidence must be really low right now. Away from home Genoa haven't managed a win for over 4 months, when they narrowly won 1-0 to 10 man Bologne. So away to a a very strong and in-form Napoli will be a massive task, therefore a comfortable home win should be on the cards tonight.
Our second selection (Asian handicap -1 Benfica) are usually one of the most reliable teams in club football, however they did burn me a few weeks back when conceding 3 goals from 3 shots after 25minutes at home to Boavista, they did come back to draw 3-3 but i am very much hoping they don't start making a habit of giving teams a 3-0 head start. Benfica are very strong at home, with 8 wins, 2 draws, and 0 losses so far this season, scoring 28 goals and conceding only 6, and on paper they should only really be at risk of dropping points at home to teams like Porto and Sporting. Their opponents tonight (Arouca) are going through a spell of decent form, however they are still losing pretty much every game they would be expected to lose, against teams like Porto, Sporting, and also Benfica earlier in the season when Arouca had home advantage. So as long as Benfica take this game seriously, it should be one way traffic, and a comfortable home win.
