Monday's Double Suggestion!

23rd Jan 2017

Double Suggestion:

Monday's Fixtures.

Double
Perugia v Cesena - Draw no bet (Perugia)
Ajax Reserves v Almere City - Draw no bet (Ajax Reserves)

N.B. Double Suggestions are posted when the fixture choice is poor and the confidence levels aren't high enough for an official "Tipster's Double".

At time of posting, odds of 2.00

These selections can be found in the Italy Serie B and the Netherlands Eerste Divisie.

The main reason for this double being just a suggestion is because we are forced to select from less reliable divisions, if you're not able to use the top division from a particular country, then the risks increase. Having said that, as "double suggestions" go, i believe this one will still have a decent chance of winning.

Our first selection (Draw no bet - Perugia) are currently just squeezing into a play-off promotion spot by 1 point, however they do have a game in hand over most of the teams around them, so a win today would give them a bit of breathing room over the chasing teams. Perugia have drawn a lot of games this season, which is why i've covered the draw in this selection. They have one of the stronger defences in the league, conceding just under 1 goal per game, however they aren't big goal scorers, which is why they are struggling to convert the draws into wins. They have conceded less goals and had the same number of defeats as leaders Verona, but Verona have 5 more wins because they have managed to score 14 more goals. Perugia's opponents today (Cesena) sit way down in 20th position, and it's entirely down to their dreadful away performances. Away from home Cesena are yet to win from 11 attempts this season, and this is because they are really struggling to score on the road, with just 7 goals from 11 away games. They are however conceding a decent amount, with 18 goals conceded on their travels, and this is what's lead to 8 losses away from home. When these two teams met earlier in the season, it was a 1-1 draw, so with Perugia having home advantage this time round, they should stand a very good chance of coming away with at least a point tonight.

Our second selection (Draw no bet - Ajax Reserves) sit in 2nd position and have been in devastating form at home this season, scoring a lot of goals and winning a lot of games. At home they have a record of 8 wins, 1 draw, and 1 heavy loss to leaders Venlo, they have scored 31 goals in these 10 home games and conceded 13, so it's fair to say they are more often than not simply outscoring their opponents rather than relying on defence. When they visited tonight opponents (Almere City) earlier in the season, they came away with an impressive 4-1 win, so with home advantage tonight, a home win should stand a great chance. Almere City have an average away record of 3 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses, but they are more than capable of scoring, with 19 away goals from 10 away games, so a BTTS selection should also stand a good chance. Their goal scoring ability does make them dangerous, but they concede over 2 goals per game on average away from home, so with a home goal scoring machine like Ajax Reserves visiting, it's very likely Almere City will concede at least 2 goals tonight, and therefore they will struggle to win. I'm expecting goals and a win for Ajax Reserves tonight.
