Tipster's Double #274

Saturday's Fixtures.

Double
Newcastle v Rotherham - Asian handicap (-1 Newcastle)
Liverpool v Swansea - Asian handicap (-1 Liverpool)

At time of posting, odds of 1.97

These selections can be found in the England Championship and England Premier League.

Our first selection (Asian handicap -1 Newcastle) should be very straight forward on paper, with 2nd placed newcastle at home to bottom of the table Rotherham. It's an obvious pick but it would be silly to ignore it for that reason alone, the facts are that Newcastle are probably the strongest team in the Championship on their day, and with Brighton now ahead of them at the top, there is no room for complacency. Newcastle have had a few off days at St James' Park this season, which have caught a lot of people out, so i'm hoping for no shocks today, and with Jonjo Shelvey back in the middle, there should be a better balance to the team again. Rotherham are showing signs of improvement under Paul Warne, however their last win against Norwich was helped by an early red card for Nelson Oliveira of Norwich, and Rotherham's away form has been absolutely shocking this season. So far from 13 away games, they have managed just 1 point from a possible 39, scoring just 10 goals and conceding a massive 36, so barring any major shocks, this really should be a comfortable home win for Newcastle.

Our second selection (Asian handicap -1 Liverpool) is also an obvious choice and should also be a straight forward home win, provided the early kick-off doesn't throw up anything unexpected, which for some reason seems to happen fairly often with these lunch time kick-offs. Liverpool are going through a little difficulty scoring in their last few games, which isn't helped by Sadio Mane being unavailable, however their is no doubting their quality and threat going forward at Anfield, where they have won 7, drawn 2, and lost 0 games this season, scoring an impressive 26 goals and conceding only 7. Also with Coutinho back in the team there will be an extra dimension to their attack again. Their opponents today (Swansea) are coming off a 4-0 thumping from Arsenal, so confidence won't be at it's highest. They have huge defensive problems, conceding more than any other team in the Premier League this season with 49 conceded in 21 games. So as with the first selection, unless there is a major upset today, this really should be a very straight forward win for the home team.
