DoubleSwansea v Arsenal -
WIN (Arsenal)Atl Madrid v Real Betis -
WIN (Atl Madrid) At time of posting, odds of 1.90
These selections can be found in the England Premier League and the Spain Primera Liga.
Our first selection (Arsenal) have looked a little complacent recently, going 3-0 down at Bournemouth before salvaging a draw, and going a goal behind at Preston in the FA Cup before coming back to win. It's like going behind in a game is their wake up call to come out and play properly, but it can't continue like this or they will be out of the race for a top 4 position come the end of the season, therefore i expect a stronger performance from the outset today. Shkodran Mustafi has played a couple of games now since coming back from injury, so his match sharpness should be much improved, and Olivier Giroud is in great form, scoring in each of the last 4 games so should be a big goal threat today. Arsenal have been strong away from home this season, with only Man City and Everton managing wins, and their strong record is mainly due to their goal threat away from home, being the league's higher goal scorers away from home with 23 goals in 10 games. Their opponents today (Swansea) are really struggling this season, they did manage a win against Crystal Palace last time out but they have still lost 4 of their last 5 league games and conceded more goals in the Premier League than any other team this season. Swansea do pose a goal threat but they concede far too many goals, and playing one of the best goal scoring teams in the league today in Arsenal should result in a likely 3 points for Arsenal.
Our second selection (Atl Madrid) have under performed by their usual standards this season. Yes they sit in 4th position, which is still a Champions League spot, but they are 9 points off leaders Real Madrid who have a game in hand, and they have dropped points too many times against teams they should be beating. Defensively they are as strong as ever, conceding just 14 goals in 17 games, and they pose a strong goal threat with 31 goals scored in 17 games, but their main problem has been consistency, which has lead to dropping points. After an embarrassing loss to Villarreal, they are now coming off the back of two league wins without conceding a goal, so maybe that was the wake up call they needed and this could be the start of a decent run of wins for them. Atl Madrid have a very good recent head2head record against today's opponents (Real Betis), winning the last 6 encounters, and considering Betis' away form, Atl Madrid will certainly be expecting to add to their great head2head record with another win today. Real Betis have struggled away from home this season, they have lost 6 of their 8 away league games, and this has been mainly due to a poor defensive record away from home where on average they concede over 2 goals per game. Despite Atl Madrid's inconsistencies, they are still a top side, so with home advantage and being up against a side who have lost their last 4 away games in all competitions, this should be 3 points for the home side.
