Our first selection (Asian handicap 0.0 Nantes) should be an interesting game, as both teams have come into a bit of form recently, however i always feel their opponents Nancy have a big advantage at Stade Marcel Picot due to the artificial turf they are more used to playing on. Fortunately Nancy don't have home advantage today, which i believe should give the edge to Nantes. Nantes have won their last 4 games in all competitions, 2 of which were cup games, so maybe this could be the start of a good run of results which they really need as their season has been very disappointing so far, sitting just one point off the relegation zone. These two teams have already met once this season in the league and it ended in a 1-1 draw in which Nantes posed a greater attacking threat with more possession and chances on goal despite being the away team on the day. Nantes main problem at home this season has been scoring goals, with only 4 scored in 9 home games, this requires them to keep things tight at the back, which they haven't been able to do. Fortunately their opponents Nancy struggle for goals away from home, with only 4 scored in 10 away games, and as with Nantes they have also struggled to keep things tight at the back. Form wise, Nancy are unbeaten in their last 5 in all competitions, which does make this a potentially evenly matched contest. As both form, goals ratios, and records are similar, the deciding factor could well be the fact that Nantes were the better team when they last played, and that was without home advantage, so today with home advantage and the draw covered, Nantes should have a good chance of coming away with something.
Our second selection (Asian handicap -1 Napoli) on paper should be one of the most expected outcomes of the day. Napoli are a top Italian side, sitting 3rd in the Serie A with a very strong home record of 7 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss, scoring 24 goals and conceding only 12. They are also in a good patch of form consisting of 5 wins and 1 draw in their last 6 games in all competitions, scoring an impressive 20 goals in the process. In terms of team news, there could well be some rotation due to this being a cup game against weaker opposition, Arkadiusz Milik is still out injured, and they are without Faouzi Ghoulam, Kalidu Koulibaly and Omar El Kaddouri due to African Cup of Nations duty. Napoli's opponents today (Spezia) play their league football in Serie B where they are currently sitting in a mid-table position and are becoming specialists in drawing games, with 10 draws from their 21 league games so far. Away from home they try to keep things tight, conceding just 7 goals in 10 away games, however they have scored only 6, which explains the high number of draws. They will try to frustrate and play on the counter tonight, but Napoli should have way too much fire power and should win by at least a couple of goals.
