Tipster's Double #267

Sunday's Fixtures.

Double
Watford v Tottenham - Draw no bet (Tottenham)
Arsenal v Crystal Palace - Asian handicap (-1 Arsenal)

At time of posting, odds of 1.88

These selections can be found in the England Premier League.

Our first selection Draw no bet - Tottenham) appear to have shaken off their poor run of form where they went 7 straight games in all competitions without a win, as now they are on a run of 3 consecutive wins, and 5 wins from their last 6. During those 6 games they have also found their scoring boots, with 17 goals being scored, yet this hasn't had a negative affect on their defence, which has only conceded 4 goals in those last 6 games. So all in all they look to be a very capable team at the moment. Their opponents today (Watford) have home advantage and they are fairly strong when playing at Vicarage Road, losing just 3 of their 9 home Premier League games this season, and recording wins against good teams like Man Utd, Leicester and Everton. I do feel Tottenham will be a much tougher test though, and the Man Utd win came when Mourinho was still figuring out his best team. On top of that, Tottenham have the psychological edge having won their last 6 meetings with Watford, but due to Watford's home form i have decided to still cover the draw in this selection for added security.

Our second selection (Asian handicap -1 Arsenal) is an obvious choice considering the quality Arsenal possess and the fact they have home advantage. One negative is that Arsenal are still without Shkodran Mustafi who seems to really make them play at a higher level, however after grinding out a result against West Brom in their last match their confidence will have taken a boost that they are capable of winning matches when things don't look to be going their way. Arsenal are strong at home, and haven't lost a home league game since losing to Liverpool on the first day of the current season back in August. Their opponents today (Crystal Palace) now have Sam Allardyce in charge, which is likely to make a difference but they have been on a poor run of results, losing 8 of their last 11 league games, and that kind of form doesn't just disappear overnight, especially against a top club like Arsenal. I'm sure Allardyce will tactically set up to make life as difficult as possible for Arsenal, but Arsenal's quality should make the difference in the end, and they should take all 3 points.
