Tipster's Double #266

Saturday's Fixtures.

Double
Chelsea v Stoke City - Asian handicap (-1 Chelsea)
Man Utd v Middlesbrough - Asian handicap (-1 Man Utd)

At time of posting, odds of 1.88

These selections can be found in the England Premier League.

Our first selection (Asian handicap -1 Chelsea) was the obvious choice of the day. To say Chelsea are in good form recently is a bit of an understatement, their last win against Bournemouth made it 12 consecutive winning Premier League games, which is a new club record, and today they have a chance to stretch that to 13 straight wins. What's all the more impressive is the way they have kept 10 clean sheets in those 12 games, conceding only 1 goal against Tottenham and Man City, and they have still managed to be potent in attack by scoring 28 goals along the way. Their opponents today (Stoke) have struggled against the better sides this season. Yes they went on a good run of 5 wins in 7 games but all those wins were against struggling sides, and only defeats or draws have come when playing the better sides. Therefore as they are playing the top side in the Premier league, at Stamford Bridge, this should be another tough game for Stoke, and most likely a 13th straight Premier League win for Chelsea.

Our second selection (Asian handicap -1 Man Utd) could be a little more challenging, however Manchester Utd are also hitting a good run of form and have a big advantage in squad quality over today's opponents Middlesbrough. Man Utd haven't lost a Premier League game since losing 4-0 to Chelsea back in October, since then they have recorded 5 wins and 4 draws, with the last 4 games all being wins, so it's looking like Mourinho is starting to get that winning feeling back. Defensively they have been strong at home all season, conceding only 7 goals in 9 home league games, so against the joint lowest goal scorers in the league (Middlesbrough) who have only managed 16 goals in 18 games, the chance of a home clean sheet look good. Middlesbrough have been defensively strong though this season, and will look to frustrate Man Utd and break on the counter. However, 3 losses in their last 4 indicates signs that they may be starting to go through a difficult patch, so to then face an in form Man Utd at Old Trafford is probably not ideal timing. Middlesbrough will put up a fight today but i think Man Utd will have ground them down by the 2nd half and should pick up all 3 points.
