Tipster's Double #265

Tuesday's Fixtures.

Double
Liverpool v Stoke - WIN (Liverpool)
Brighton v QPR - WIN (Brighton)

At time of posting, odds of 1.95

These selections can be found in the England Premier League and England Championship.

Our first selection (Liverpool) will have really been boosted by their late win against rivals Everton in their last match, not because they didn't expect to win but because of the way they won. It was one of those games which was looking like it wasn't going to be their night, yet they somehow managed to grind out the result, and it's those type of games which can make all the difference as they teach players that digging deep and persisting does pay off. At Anfield Liverpool have been very strong this season, playing fast paced attacking football and scoring a lot of goals on their way to 5 wins, 2 draws, and 0 defeats. I do believe they are missing Philippe Coutinho in attack, they are less fluid without him, however with Mane's pace and Lallana's creativity, they have more than enough attacking threat still, especially with home advantage. Their opponents today (Stoke) have had some better results recently after a pretty terrible start to the season, however all their wins have come against struggling sides (Sunderland, Hull, Swansea, Watford, Burnley) and Liverpool are far from struggling. Stoke will be stubborn opposition, but with home advantage, this should be 3 points for Liverpool today.

Our second selection (Brighton) currently sit 2nd in the England Championship and have the best defensive record in the league, conceding only 14 goals in 22 games. Their impressive home record boasts 8 wins, 2 draws, and only 1 loss and once again their strong defence conceding only 6 goals in 11, however at home they are also proficient goal scorers, scoring 2 goals per game on average. It's this that makes them far more dangerous at home as they struggle for goals on their travels. They have the leagues 2nd highest goal scorer this season (Glenn Murray) who has scored 14 goals so far this season, and he will again be a good choice for "anytime goal scorer" selections. Their opponents today (QPR) are on a terrible run of form, losing their last 5 consecutive games, scoring only 1 goal in the process. They also have a poor recent history when visiting Brighton, losing their last two visits 4-0 and 2-0. On top of that, QPR don't pose a big goal threat, averaging less than a goal per game in the league this season. Everything points towards a generous odds home win in this match today.
