Our first selection (Bolton) are strong candidates for promotion back up to the Championship after being relegated last season. They have been defensively very tight all season and are currently sitting in 3rd position, just 4 points off top spot with a game in hand. At home Bolton are very difficult to beat, losing just 1 of their 10 home games, and conceding only 6 goals in the process, and it's this tight defence that makes them so tough to beat despite being one of the lower goal scorers in the league. The good thing for goal shy Bolton is that Gillingham's defence is nowhere near as strong, especially away from home where they have conceded 21 goals in 10 away games. They have lost 6 of those away games, and 4 of the last 5 as well, so are not really in the best of form either. With Bolton being the in-form team in the league right now, and having home advantage, they should be able to finish this match with at least a point today.

Our second selection (VfB Stuttgart) is the riskier of the two selections as both teams are in good form and battling for one of the automatic promotion places into the top flight of German football. Despite these two sides being fairly evenly matched though, home advantage should be enough to make the difference. At home this season VfB Stuttgart have won 6 of their 7 games, scoring 17 goals and conceding only 6, and they have won their last 5 straight. Now Hannover's home record is virtually identical, however their away record is far less impressive with 2 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses, scoring 15 goals and conceding 12, and they have only managed 2 points from their last 4 away matches. Therefore with VfB Stuttgart having home advantage tonight, and with the draw being covered in this selection, it should give this selection a decent level of safety.
