Our first selection (0.0 Real Sociedad) are playing really good football recently. They are undefeated in their last 5 games, winning 4 of them, and they even managed a draw with Barcelona in their last match. The most impressive thing for me about the Barcelona game though, was the fact that Real Sociedad finished the match having had more possession and significantly more attempts on goal, and it's very rare for a team to out play Barcelona. Today they play Valladolid, who play their league football one division below and currently sit just below mid-table. At home Valladolid like to keep things pretty tight, they don't score many goals, however they don't conceded many (4 in 8 home games). As they are coming up against stronger opposition today in Real Sociedad, i expect they will also try and keep the game tight, maybe trying to make the most of counter attacking opportunities. I see Real Sociedad coming away with at least a draw today, however being a cup game, there is always the threat of rotation which can affect performance, so caution is advised.

Our second selection (Ath Bilbao) currently sit in 8th position in the Spanish top flight, and if not for their last match against Las Palmas they would have been considered to be on a decent run of form having not lost for the 5 matches in all competitions prior. Ath Bilbao are struggling for goals this season, scoring just 17 in 13 league games, and they haven't performed too well on their travels either, winning just 2 of their 7 away league games, but today they have a big advantage in quality. Racing Santander play their league games two divisions below in the Segunda Div B - Group 1, they are however performing very well in that league this season, sitting in 2nd position and looking real promotion contenders. So basically this results will most likely boil down to how seriously Ath Bilbao take this game, if they put a strong side out, they should win, however if their is heavy rotation then anything is possible. Once again, caution advised.
