Our first selection (Napoli) have definitely found the going tough recently, both domestically and in European competition since the injury to star striker Milik, who was bought specifically to replace Higuain. They are however usually very strong at home and will still be expecting 3 points today, especially when their opponents (Sassuolo) form is even worse. Napoli's form is bad for a team looking to compete for the title, but Sassuolo's form is the kind that can lead to a relegation battle, with just 1 point from their last 5 league games, scoring only 5 goals yet conceding a hefty 12 in the process. Sassuolo have lost 5 of their 7 away games this season, and their only away win was against bottom club Palermo. Both teams today are struggling, but Napoli have better form, the greater quality, and home advantage, so a home win should be on the cards.
Our second selection (Huddersfield) have also had a dip in form recently, but as with Napoli, their threat at home remains strong. They are not big goal scorers but they are strong defensively at home, and have won 6 of their 8 home games this season, with their only dropped points coming against top 7 clubs. Their opponents today (Wigan) have also not been in great form, although that's been the case all season, which is why they sit in 23rd position with just 3 wins from 17 games. Despite the home advantage for Huddersfield and the large gap in points between the two teams, this league still has the habit of throwing up a few surprises (Newcastle v Blackburn instantly springs to mind), which is why i have covered the draw with this selection despite the numbers pointing at Huddersfield to win today.
