Our first selection (Man City) put in a dominant display when they hosted today's opponents (Borussia M'gladbach) in September, beating them 4-0 which included an Aguero hat trick. Now i don't think that level of dominance will happen again today as Man City will be the visitors, however they should be more than capable of coming away with at least a point. Man City have dropped a few too many points for their liking recently but they have still been the stronger team in the majority of their games, and probably should have won the majority of the games they have drawn recently. Borussia M'gladbach are a decent team however and will certainly put up a strong fight, but they have been struggling domestically this season, in particular recently where they have the 2nd poorest record in the league over the last 5 games. With the draw covered and Borussia M'gladbach's poor recent form, this selection should be pretty safe.
Our second selection (Barcelona) are currently topping Group C of the Champions League and a win tonight will qualify them for the next phase of the tournament. Barcelona put in an utterly dominant display when they hosted today's opponents (Celtic) in September, beating them 7-0 which included a Messi hat trick. Celtic did however follow that with a 3-3 home draw against Man City, which was a result many including myself did not expect. It is clear Celtic are very strong at home, however i feel Man City's defence wasn't strong that night, and maybe their was a certain amount of complacency which caught them out, probably expecting an easy win after seeing Barca's 7-0 demolition. Barca won't have such an easy night tonight, but i think they will take the game seriously and get the job done, as they do still have superior quality which should make all the difference whether Celtic have home advantage this time or not.
