Our first selection (Reims) sit in 2nd position in the France Ligue 2, and it's largely thanks to their home form which is second to none in the league, with 6 wins from 6 home games, scoring 11 goals and conceding only 2 in the process. Last season they were relegated from the top division, missing out on safety by just 1 point, and mainly due to a terrible away record. Their opponents tonight (Laval) sit just inside the relegation zone and have had equally poor results whether playing home or away. However it's away from home where they are really struggling for goals, scoring just 3 in 7 away league games so far this season. So with the best defence in the league with home advantage up against one of the weakest attacks in the league, on paper it would be a massive shock if Reims weren't able to come away with at least a point tonight.
Our second selection (1st half goal line - Over 1) in the Carmarthen v TNS match should be a likely outcome for two reasons, one being the attacking threat of TNS, and two being the leaky home defence of Carmarthen. TNS are in a different class to all the other teams in the Wales Premier League this season, after 14 games they still have a 100% record of 14 wins, and have scored an incredible 52 goals in the process, which is nearly 4 goals scored per game. This alone give a good chance of 1 or more 1st half goals but when we add to that the fact that Carmarthen Town at home have only conceded less goals than one other team in the league, then it seems unlikely they will be able to keep TNS out for long. On top of that, the last time TNS visited Carmarthen Town, the match ended 6-1 to TNS and 4 goals were scored in the first half. I would be surprised if this game was still 0-0 at half time.
