Our first selection (Colombia) are in good form during their recent World Cup qualifying games, losing only 1 of their last 6, and that was away to group leaders Brazil, which is a result most would have expected. They have an array of attacking talent in their team, with players like Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Carlos Bacca, and Juan Cuadrado all posing a strong attacking threat, which the unreliable Chile defence will surely be concerned about tonight. Chile have one of the poorest defences away from home, conceding 12 goals in their 5 away qualifiers so far, however they do have some quality in midfield and attack with players like Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal. Defence could be the key factor in this match though, and Colombia have the stronger defence, conceding just 4 goals from their 5 home qualifying games, and this could well be what secures them a home win tonight.
Our second selection (Uruguay) have a superb record in these qualifiers when playing at home, winning all 5 of their games, scoring 14 goals without conceding a single goal. Admittedly those five games didn't include opponents like Brazil and Argentina, however they did include a 3-0 thrashing of Colombia, which is no easy task. Uruguay are always going to be a goal threat when they have the attacking talent of Luis Suarez, and with their opponents tonight (Ecuador) conceding 8 goals in 5 away qualifiers so far, it seems likely Uruguay will get on the scoresheet tonight. Ecuador do have some good players like Felipe Caicedo, Enner Valencia and Juan Carlos Paredes but key player Antonio Valencia is out with a broken arm, therefore with Uruguay being so strong at home, there should be a good chance of another home win tonight.
