Our first selection (Man City) had a dip in form recently, failing to win in 6 straight games in all competitions. That dip in form appears to be well and truly over though after a 4-0 away thrashing of West Brom, followed by an even more impressive 3-1 win over Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League. Confidence will be sky high now, which will put Middlesbrough in a very difficult position when they visit the Etihad today. Middlesbrough have made themselves difficult to break down away from home, conceding only 5 goals in 5 away games, losing just one of those games, and even managing a draw away to Arsenal. So this won't be a walk in the park for Man City, they will have to take their opponents seriously, however they should still have more than enough quality, form, and confidence to get all 3 points today.
Our second selection (Dortmund) is the main reason this is just a double suggestion rather than an official "Tipster's Double". I do think they should comfortably win today, however their recent form (largely due to having many injuries) has been so patchy that it's by no means a certainty. Generally speaking Dortmund are one of the German superpowers of football and they appear to be getting some of their regular starters back to fitness now, which should give them a very good chance today against such struggling opposition (Hamburg). Hamburg have managed just 2 points from 9 league games this season, scoring only 2 goals yet conceding 18 in the process. On top of that, their top goal scorer Bobby Wood, who is also their only goal scorer in the league this season, is out through suspension after receiving straight red against Cologne last time out. So they really don't look to have the firepower needed to compete with such a free scoring team as Dortmund today.
