Our first selection (Leicester) look to be focusing their attention on the Champions League rather than defending their Premier League title, and this was evident in their 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the weekend as they rested Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimami, and Danny Simpson. Leicester currently top Champions League Group G with 2 wins, against Porto and Club Brugge, and are yet to concede a goal in the competition. Their opponents tonight (FC Copenhagen) are one of the least fancied teams in the competition, however they are a well organised team who should not be underestimated, as shown by their draw at Porto and their thrashing of Club Brugge. Leicester do have the edge in quality, and with home advantage and their focus firmly set on this competition, they should be able to come out of this game with at least a draw.
Our second selection (Real Madrid) have had a tough patch of results recently, until their convincing 6-1 win against Betis at the weekend, and now they face one of the rank outsiders in the Champions League at The Bernabeu, so expect a big score tonight. Real Madrid have some of the biggest attacking threats in the game, with Ronaldo, Bale, and Benzema leading the attack, and they will be chomping at the bit to get on the scoresheet tonight against Legia who have already conceded 8 goals in their first 2 Champions League games. Legia look very much out of their depth in this competition, and they are struggling domestically too, so confidence certainly won't be high coming in to this match against Real Madrid. A high scoring match in Real Madrid's favour is heavily expected tonight, which is why i fully expect them to be leading by half time, and it's likely that it could be by more than 1 goal.
