Our first selection (Most corners - Chelsea) is not the kind of selection i would usually go for, however with Chelsea being the away team, there is always that possibility of a full time result upset so I figured corners will be safer. More often than not, the team who attacks the most will have the most corners, and due to Chelsea's superior quality in comparison to Hull, and the fact they lost their last two games so will be desperate for the 3 points here today, they should do most of the attacking in this game. On top of that, other than their last match against Arsenal, Chelsea have had more corners than each of their opponents in all of the other Premier League games this season. Compare that to Hull who have only managed more corners than 2 of their 6 Premier League opponents this season, then Chelsea to come away from this game with more corners definitely looks like it should stand a good chance.
Our second selection (Basel) is a very obvious choice, on paper it should be nailed on, which can be a concern as that's when teams can be complacent and upsets can occur, however it would be silly for us to ignore this selection just because of the outside chance of an upset. Basel are a class above the rest in the Swiss Super League, they have won all 9 of their games this season, scoring 29 goals and conceding only 7. At home they have won each of their league games by 2 or more goals (3 of which by 3 goals), and have conceded only 2 goals. There may be an element of fatigue from their midweek Champions League loss against Arsenal, however their next fixture is in 2 weeks due to the international break, so they will surely be looking to start their break with another win. Their opponents today (Thun) are bottom of the league and have just 1 point from 4 away league games this season, scoring 5 goals but conceding a massive 12. This should be a safe home win today, just hope for no complacency.
