Our first selection (Malmo) have a chance to close the gap to just 2 points on League leaders Norrkoping if they can manage a win this evening. They have a very impressive home record of 9 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, scoring 24 goals and conceding only 6, which is the best home defensive record in the league. In fact, including both home and away games, they still have the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 19 goals from 22 games, which makes them a very difficult team to beat. Their opponents today (Elfsborg) are a decent team and currently sit in 6th position, however their away record is nothing to get excited about, recording just 3 wins from 11 away games. Those 3 away wins were all against teams in the bottom 4 league positions, so it looks very unlikely they will be able to record a win against a top 2 side with the best defence in the league. Therefore, with the draw covered, this selection should stand a very good chance.
Our second selection (FC Zurich) are looking the class act of the Swiss Challenge League this season. Currently undefeated and topping the league with 6 wins, 1 draw, and 0 losses, scoring 14 goals and conceding only 2 in the process, which is by far the strongest defence in the league. They don't just have a strong defence though, they score on average 2 goals per game, and 4 of their 6 league wins have come by a 2 or more goal margin. On top of that, their opponents tonight (Servette) have the worst away record with 3 straight losses, scoring just 1 goal yet conceding 6, and have only picked up points this season in home matches against the bottom 3 teams. On paper this should be another convincing win for promotion candidates Zurich.
