Our first selection (PSG) lost their last match 3-1 away to Monaco, and to be honest that will have worked to our advantage in terms of the odds for today's match. PSG have lost Ibrahimovic, and now David Luiz, however this is PSG at home where they are utterly dominant and will be looking to make amends for the loss in their last match. On top of that, their new manager (Emery) seems to be very much a home manager. If you look at last season's record at Sevilla when Emery was in charge, they had 14 home wins from 19, and 0 away wins from 19, so we might well see them struggle away from home this season, but there is no reason to think they will struggle at home. Their opponents today (St Etienne) are a decent team, however not on PSG's level, finishing 38 points behind PSG last season, and losing the last 9 times they have met PSG. This should be a comfortable home win.
Our second selection (Randers FC) are up against newly promoted Lyngby. Randers FC have started the league very well, winning 4, drawing 2 and losing just 1 (to 3rd place Aalborg). They aren't scoring many, but are defensively very strong, conceding only 5 goals from their 7 league games. Randers are performing very well at the moment, and are showing definite improvement, and this could well be down to the appointment of Olafur Helgi Kristjansson as head coach in June. Lyngby have started well so far considering the increased standard in this league, however their wins came against the bottom two clubs, and the other 5 games have been 2 draws and 3 losses. Therefore this game against high flying Randers could be a big ask. With the draw covered and Randers having home advantage, this selection should also stand a very good chance.
