Our first selection (Over 0.5 first half goals) should stand a very good chance, purely because of the gulf in class between the two teams, meaning a heavy win for Dundalk is expected, and therefore a goal in the first half is likely. Dundalk have won the Ireland Premier League the last 2 straight seasons, and are the current FAI Cup winners, so will be looking to defend their title. Their opponents today are defending Leinster Senior League champions, however that is non-league football so the gulf in class is massive considering Dundalk are the best club in Ireland. I'm expecting a convincing win for Dundalk, and probably without conceding a goal.
Our second selection (Trelleborgs) are sitting in a mid-table position in the Sweden Superettan, and have a very strong home record, in particular defensively. In their 10 home games they have won 5 and drawn 5, scoring 17 goals and conceding only 5, which makes them very difficult to beat. They have already beaten today's opponents (IK Frej) 2-0 away from home, and considering how IK Frej have struggled for wins away from home, Trelleborgs should have a good chance of picking up points today also. IK Frej have just the 1 win from 9 away league games this season, defensively they are ok, however with just 9 away goals scored, that's the main reason they struggle to win away from home. With the draw covered, this selection should be fairly safe.
