Our first selection (Man City) may rest a few players today, they are also the away team, and they are also still getting used to Pep Guardiola's style of play, however the majority of the players Pep does pick for tonight's game will probably still have a higher market value than their opponents (Steaua Bucharest) entire first XI. That is the gulf in class/value of these two teams, and if Man City don't win tonights match, it would generally be considered a failure and some what embarrassing. Steaua are consistently one of the best sides in Romania, and difficult to beat at home, but tonight they are up against one of the richest clubs in the world, managed by one of the worlds best coaches, and containing some of the worlds best players, so it really should be a Man City win.

Our second selection (Brechin) play in the Scotland League 1, and have started the new season well, winning their first two games. Last season they finished just below mid-table, and that was largely due to a terrible away record, in fact the worst away record in the league that season. So the fact they finished just below mid-table shows that they perform fairly well when they have home advantage, which they do tonight. Their opponents tonight (Cove Rangers) lost out to Edinburgh City in the playoffs for promotion to League 2. Edinburgh City are already struggling in League 2, so it looks likely the team they beat (Cove Rangers) will certainly struggle against League 1 Brechin tonight. With home advantage, Brechin should have too much quality for Cove Rangers tonight, and with the draw covered, this selection should be very safe.
