Our first selection (PSG) are the dominant force in French football, and when i say dominant, it's no exaggeration. They won the league last season by a massive 31 points over 2nd place Lyon, who they actually just beat 4-1 a few days ago. In fact their pre-season form indicates this season could be just as dominant as last season's, with comfortable pre-season wins over Inter, Leicester, and even Real Madrid. Last season they beat today's opponents Bastia home and away 2-0, and from their pre-season form of 3 losses in their last 3 games, there is no reason to think anything other than another PSG win. Last season Bastia were a good home side, however that still didn't stop PSG controlling their game away to Bastia. Home advantage will help Bastia today but there is just so much quality in the PSG squad that home advantage most likely won't be enough to stop PSG's dominance.

Our second selection (Monaco) are one of the next biggest clubs in France behind PSG. They finished the ligue 1 in 3rd place last season, level on points with 2nd place lyon, however they are more known for being difficult to beat than dominating their opponents. They only lost 7 of their 38 league games last season but dropped points by having far too many draws (14 draws). Last season this home fixture against Guingamp ended 3-2 to Monaco, and judging from Monaco's pre-season games, this match could also contain a fair few goals. Guingamp last season struggled for goals away from home, which was the main reason for their 10 away losses, they just didn't pose enough goal threat. They have faired better in front of goal during pre-season, however it's unlikely they will outscore Monaco at home, which is why with the draw covered this selection should also be fairly safe.
