Our first selection (Slavia Prague) suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat away to Levadia in the 1st leg of this tie. They did have the better of the play with nearly three times as many attempts on goal and more possession, however it just wasn't their day. In this return leg, Slavia will be the home side and will need to score at least 2 goals to stand any chance of progressing. Slavia are the stronger side and i expect them to be very aggressive from the outset, pushing forward and creating many attacks as they try to turn the tie around. Domestically Slavia are clearly stronger when playing at home, losing just 1 home league game the whole of last season, yet losing 5 league games on their travels, they also scored nearly twice as many goals playing at home compared to playing away. With the incentive of being 3-1 down from the 1st leg, i can only see a Slavia win today.
Our second selection (Hearts) drew 0-0 away to Birkirkara from Malta in their 1st leg of this tie. They were however dominant and deserved the win, creating 6 times as many attempts on goal. Hearts will be the home team this time, and they are far stronger at home, winning 11 home games compared to 7 away games last season, scoring 37 home goals compared to 22 away from home. With Hearts being dominant away from home in the first leg, they should be even more dominant at home in this 2nd leg, also they need to win the game to progress within the 90 minutes, which should provide plenty of incentive. I'm expecting a convincing win today, probably to nil.
