Our first selection (Hafnarfjordur) was actually the one i wanted to make a -1 asian handicap rather than selection two, however that option wasn't available. Hafnarfjordur are currently topping their Iceland League with some excellent defensive displays which have lead to only 4 goals being conceded in 9 games. They have already played today's opponents (Throttur) in May and beat them 3-0 away from home. Throttur have by far the poorest defence in the league, conceding a massive 24 goals from just 9 games, and as they score on average less than a goal per game, wins are very hard to come by. With this particular encounter being a cup quarter final, Hafnarfjordur should take this seriously and therefore most likely win.
Our second selection (Stromsgodset) have a formidable home record, they lost only 1 home league match for the whole of last season, and are currently unbeaten at home this season after 7 home games (6 wins and 1 draw). When playing at home, Stromsgodset are prolific goal scorers, averaging over 2.5 goals per game, yet despite their attacking strength they still only concede less than 1 goal per game at home. Their opponents today (Aalesund) will most likely set up very defensively and hope they can hit them on the counter. They have really struggled for goals away from home though, scoring only 2 in 6 away games, where only 1 narrow win has been achieved. If all goes to plan, this game should be an easy 3 points for Stromsgodset.
