With Euro 2016 fast approaching, I have been contacted by some online bookmakers about various tournament offers. So I thought I'd share these offers in this blog post, along with my thoughts on whether I feel they are worth claiming.
I will start with the "new customer" offers
, before moving on to the offers that existing as well as new customers can claim. OUTRIGHT WINNER
33/1 ENGLAND to win the tournament EXPIRED
16/1 GERMANY to win the tournament EXPIRED
14/1 FRANCE to win the tournament EXPIRED
40/1 BELGIUM to win the tournament EXPIREDOffers end 10th June 8:00pm - limited offer may be withdrawn soonerTIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
These are Betfair's 'new customer' offers, and obviously the odds for England and Belgium look very tempting, however do you really think they will win? Personally I'm not convinced, Belgium don't look the finished article to me, plenty of talent but it feels to me like they are missing that mentality required for a major tournament win. England are lacking any natural width, we saw this recently with Vardy and Kane drifting wide to compensate. This doesn't look like a well balanced team, and could well be a case of square pegs in round holes.
The two lower odds offers definitely stand a good chance though, both Germany and France have quality throughout their teams. France have home advantage, and they have a big attacking threat with Antoine Griezmann. Germany have a winners mentality, as well as quality throughout, they always play as a team rather than as individual superstars, which always makes them difficult to beat.
18/1 GERMANY to win the tournament EXPIREDOffer ends 12th June 8:00pmTIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
This 'new customer' offer is from 888sport and yes it's better odds than the previous Germany offer, so if you don't have an account with either bookie, and you fancy Germany to win, then I guess this one is an obvious choice.GOALSCORERS
5/1 Kane, Rooney or Vardy to be England's top goal scorer EXPIRED
35/1 Harry Kane - top goal scorer at Euro 2016 EXPIRED
30/1 Thomas Muller - top goal scorer at Euro 2016 EXPIRED
24/1 Cristiano Ronaldo - top goal scorer at Euro 2016 EXPIRED
7/1 Gareth Bale - Wales top goal scorer at Euro 2016 EXPIREDOffers end 10th June 8:00pm - limited offer may be withdrawn sooner TIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
These are Betfair's 'new customer' offers. Kane, Rooney or Vardy to be Englands top goals scorer is pretty much nailed on, hence the short odds. Bale to be Wales top goal scorer is also very likely, and slightly better odds so that would be my preference of the safe options. As for tournemant top goal scorer, personally I would not consider Ronaldo because Portugal are not prolific goal scorers, also I'd rule out Kane as I see England struggling to find the right balance. Muller seems good odds considering his goal scoring record for Germany, and Germany's strength as a team. Would have been nice to see some enhanced odds for Lewandowski though.
30/1 Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann or Thomas Muller to win the Euro 2016 Golden Boot EXPIREDOffer ends 11th June 8:00pmTIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
This 'new customer' offer is from 888sport, and once again Muller is the stand out pick for me.GROUPS
5/1 Wales, Rep of Ireland or Northern Ireland to qualify from group EXPIRED
20/1 Wales to win Group B EXPIREDEnds 10th June 8:00pm - limited offer may be withdrawn sooner TIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
These are Betfair's 'new customer' offers. I think 5/1 is a bit short for this offer, i think Wales have the best chance of qualifying but there are safer offers above. 20/1 on Wales to win the group is tempting, not sure how likely it is though, Bale will have to be on unstoppable form for this to happen.GENERAL
Back a team to win Euro 2016, get a £5 free bet EVERY match they win EXPIREDMinimum £25 single bet, ends 10th June 8:00pmTIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
This is a very nice offer from Betfair that is NOT restricted to new customers, simply back the team you think has the best chance of winning, and watch the £5 free bets rack up.
Penalty Payback - Place a bet on the To Win Outright market for Euro 2016 and if the team you back is eliminated on penalties, we will refund your losing bet. EXPIREDOffer ends 10th July 8:00pmTIPSTER'S THOUGHTS:
This offer is from Bet365 and also NOT restricted to new customers, and my advice would be to back one of the favourites as strong teams are less likely to be beaten in 90 minutes and therefore have a higher chance of losing on penalties in the later stages.
If I receive anymore offers between now and the start of the tournament, I will add them to this post.
