It's a tricky day ahead of us today. There are so many teams now without any real incentive to win, as we saw with Basel last night. I've managed to find a couple of selections however which both have good incentive as it's early in their season, and both should stand a good chance of getting something out of their games. I'm going to have to stick to posting this double as just a suggestion though, so if you're in any doubt, just wait for the next official "Tipster's Double".
Double:
Lillestrom v SK Brann -
Asian handicap (0.0 Lillestrom)Raufoss v Sandnes Ulf -
Asian handicap (+1 Raufoss) At time of posting, odds of 1.92
These matches can be found in the Norway Tippeligaen and Norway Div 1 (OBOS-Ligaen).
Our first selection (Lillestrom) can be a little bit hit and miss, however they are currently unbeaten when playing with home advantage (2 wins, 2 draws), and they do pose a good attacking threat which always makes them dangerous. They have scored the 2nd highest number of goals in the league so far with 17, and they have the current leading goal scorer (F Friday) who has 8 goals already in just 9 games. Today they play a newly promoted team (SK Brann) but don't let that make you think this will be an easy win, because SK Brann have started the season very well. How long that will last is difficult to say, but they are not an easy team to beat. It's essentially a case of attack vs defence, Lillestrom have the goal threat, but SK Brann have the strong defence, with 5 clean sheets already this season, although the majority of those have been when playing at home. I think home advantage will be a big factor here, and i think Lillestrom have the quality to win, but to make the selections safer, the draw is also covered.
Our second selection (Raufoss) are a newly promoted team who dominated Div 2 Group 2 last season, winning by 7 points. They were particularly impressive at home too, with 11 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, scoring 43 goals and conceding 13. Now despite struggling away from home this season with the increased quality of opposition, their home form has remained strong, with 2 wins, 1 draw, 0 losses, scoring 7 goals and conceding only 2 so far. They are playing a team (Sandnes Ulf) who are also struggling away from home, without a win in their first 3 away games, and that's mainly due to a lack of attacking threat. As with our first selection, i feel home advantage will play a big factor here, and with the chosen handicap, this should be very safe as the bet will only lose if Sandnes win by 2 or more goals, which i think they will find pretty difficult.
