Monday's Double Suggestion!

4th April 2016

We're on a great run of 7 double wins from the last 8, and we're going back to the Double Suggestions today as there is an increased level of unpredictability, as one of our selections is a derby match and in France Ligue 2. Now we've actually won a lot of our recent Double Suggestions, but if you have any doubts, just wait for the next official "Tipster's Double".

Double:
Red Star FC v Paris FC - Asian handicap (0.0 Red Star FC)
FC Porto v Todela - 1st half goal line (Over 1)

At time of posting, odds were 1.89

These matches can be found in the France and Portugal Leagues.

Our first selection (Red Star FC) have the massive incentive of being able to move into a promotion position with a win tonight, as they are currently 2 points off the top 3 with a game in hand. Red Star are a very difficult team to beat, and that's due to having the best defence in the league along with Dijon, conceding just 25 goals in 31 games. However, what makes me feel the need to cover the draw, is that even though they are playing the poorest performing team in the league (Paris FC), they don't score many, just 31 in 31 games, and this is a local derby with fierce rivalry, so the visitors will be much more motivated. Paris FC have been pretty terrible this season, and look certain to be relegated as they are 11 points adrift of safety. They have managed only 1 win in all of the 31 league games this season, and have scored less goals than any other team in the league, just 21. On paper, this should be a straight forward win for Red Star, but with such a fierce rivalry, anything could happen, however if things go according to form, this selection should be very safe.

Our second selection (1st half goal line - over 1) should stand a good chance as the home team (FC Porto) should feel fairly relaxed and able to really push for goals and points now. FC Porto no longer have European distractions, so can focus 100% on claiming that automatic Champions League spot that Sporting currently hold. They are currently 4 points behind Sporting and have a poorer goals ratio, so they need to be pushing for wins and goals in order to have a chance. The good news is they are 11 points clear of 4th place Braga with a game in hand, so they don't really have to concern themselves with anyone taking their 3rd place position, meaning they can almost throw caution to the wind and just go for it now until the end of the season. With Porto playing relegation favourites (Tondela), they will no doubt start the game very positively and it wouldn't surprise me if they get at least 1 goal in the first half of what could be a convincing win for the home team.
