Our first selection (Dundalk) are last seasons Ireland Premier League Champions, in fact they were Champions the season before that as well, so they are generally seen as the class team recently. Last season they won the league by 11 points, and had a home record of 12 wins, 4 draws, and 1 loss, scoring a massive 46 goals yet conceding only 9 in the process. They have only played one game so far this season but look to have carried that form into this season, winning 3-1 away to Bray. Today they are playing newly promoted Finn Harps, who are favourites for the drop this season, so most would expect Champions Dundalk to be able to record an easy victory tonight. Finn Harps are sure to work their socks off tonight, but they shouldn't have the level of quality to cause Dundalk too many problems at home. On paper Dundalk should win this game convincingly.
Our second selection (Monaco) have made a strong push to secure that 2nd automatic Champions league spot recently, and their recent home form has been a large factor. Monaco haven't lost a league game at home since the 20th Sept 2015, and during that 11 game unbeaten run, they managed to win 7. Their main threat for 2nd place comes from Lyon, who are in very good form, so Monaco will definitely not want to take their eye off the ball in this game as they have a strong chance for 3 points tonight. Their opponents tonight (Reims) are just 2 points of the relegation zone and aren't particularly strong away from home, and this is largely due to a lack of goals on the road, with just 12 in 14 away games. Monaco have already beaten Reims away from home earlier in the season, and with their home form being strong at the moment, they should certainly have enough quality and form to be able to avoid defeat tonight.
