These matches can be found in the Champions League and the France Ligue 1.
Our first selection (Chelsea) have a tough task ahead of them tonight, however home advantage and the incentive of this being a must win game should work to their advantage. Now player for player, Chelsea are stronger than most sides, however that might not be the case with tonights opponents PSG, who have an extremely talented squad. Fortunately though, Chelsea are always very strong at home, which should help balance out any slight differences in quality. The main reason this selection feels safe to me though is the +1 asian handicap in combination with PSG leading 2-1 from the 1st leg, and therefore not needing to win to progress. This happens so often in sport, that when a team doesn't need to win, they won't go out to try and win, they will rather play with the aim of not losing, so even if PSG do take the lead, surely they will then just sit back and try to prevent Chelsea scoring 2 goals, which would still make our selection safe. It wouldn't surprise me if this game ended in a draw, but with Chelsea pushing for the win and playing at Stamford Bridge, i certainly don't see PSG winning by more than 1 goal.
Our second selection (Marseille) are having a terrible season by their standards, brought about by a bad start, and just too many draws throughout the season. That being said, a win tonight would still take them within 4 points of the European places, so there is still plenty to play for. Since Marseille's poor start to the season, they have really improved their form away from home, going undefeated in their last 9 away league games (winning 6) dating back to the beginning of October 2015. Their opponents tonight (Ajaccio GFCA) turned things around after a bad start to the season by going on a a great run of form for around 3 months (Nov-Jan), however that run of form has halted quite abruptly recently, with 3 draws and 4 losses from their last 7 league games. They are a newly promoted team, so maybe the rise in quality is catching up with them now, along with the pressures of trying to avoid relegation straight back down again. This won't be an easy game for Marseille, but given the recent form of both sides, and the extra quality of the underachieving Marseille squad, they should be able to avoid defeat today.
