Tipster's Double #163

Saturday's Fixtures.

Double:
Man City v Aston Villa - Over 1.5 team goals (Man City)
Falkirk v Alloa - Asian handicap (-1 Falkirk)

At time of posting, odds of 1.83

These matches can be found in the England and Scotland Leagues.

Our first selection (Man City) have scored at least 8 more goals playing at home than any other team in the English Premier League, scoring 35 from 14 games, which is an average of 2.5 per home game. They have only failed to score over 1.5 goals against teams who are ranked in the top 6 based on away performances, and as today's opponents (Aston Villa) are ranked bottom of the league whether it be home or away, Man City should stand a good chance of being able to score a couple of goals today. In terms of Aston Villa's defence, they've conceded the 4th highest number of goals away from home in the league (28 in 14 games), and when they last played Man City, they conceded 4 goals. In terms of mentality, this is a must win match for Man City if they are to challenge for the title, therefore they will be looking for a convincing win today, where as Aston Villa look like a team who have given up on survival, and are playing like a team who have accepted relegation is going to happen. This should be a comfortable win for City with comfortably more than 1.5 goals scored in the process.

Our second selection (Falkirk) are looking to try and take 2nd place from Hibernian with a win today against bottom of the table Alloa. Their rivals for 2nd place have lost their last 3 games, so this is the perfect opportunity now for Falkirk to take 2nd spot. Falkirk are one of three teams in the Scottish Championship who are in a different league to the rest of the teams. They have a massive 19 point cushion over 4th place team Raith, and have the strongest defence in the league at home, with just 7 goals conceded in their 13 home league games. As a result of having such a strong defence at home, they have only lost one of their home league games this season (against Hibs), and even managed to beat Rangers in December. Their opponents today (Alloa) are 8 points adrift of the rest of the league at the bottom of the table, and have scored 8 less goals than any other team in the league. This should be a comfortable win for Falkirk, and they should be more than capable of winning by a 2 or more goal margin.
