Our first selection (Stuttgart) are on a great run of form at the moment, putting them in with an outside chance of a Europa League spot if Schalke keep up their inconsistent form. Since losing 4-0 to Augsburg in November, they have had a change of manager, and it appears to have done the trick, with 5 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss (away to Dortmund) in their subsequent 9 league games. Their opponents today (Hannover) are by far the worst team in the Bundesliga, with 16 losses from 22 games, and look certain to be relegated. They also changed manager recently, however nothing much has changed as a result, losing their last 8 league matches. Stuttgart beat Hannover 3-1 away from home earlier in the season, and with their form being so strong currently and the fact this time they will have home advantage, it would be a major upset if this match ended in any other result than a home win.
Our second selection (Falkirk) are one of three teams in the Scottish Championship who are in a different league to the rest of the teams. They sit in 3rd position behind Rangers and Hibs, but they have a massive 18 point cushion over 4th place team Raith. Falkirk have the strongest defence in the league at home, with just 6 goals being conceded in their 12 home league games. As a result of having such a strong defence at home, they have only lost one of their home league games this season (against Hibs), and even managed to beat Rangers in December. Their opponents today (Queen of South) are a mid table team who's only wins away from home have come against the bottom 3 teams in the league (Livingston, Alloa, and Dumbarton). Although they don't concede many away from home, they don't score many either, so i don't see many goals in this game. A win or draw should be a very safe selection for Falkirk today, and if they win, it will probably be by just the 1 goal margin.
