These matches can be found in the Italy and Netherlands Leagues.

Our first selection (AS Roma) are one of the few big names today who don't have European distractions midweek. They have improved a lot since the return of Spalletti. His more attacking brand of football seems to be making a real difference now. He didn't get off to the best of starts with a draw and a loss (to Juventus), however they have won their next 4 games, and are showing signs that the team are starting to get used to Spalletti's tactical differences compared to their previous Manager Rudi Garcia. They have scored 10 goals in their last 4 league games, which is not something that happens often for most Italian teams, and they have plenty of incentive to push for the win today as they are only 2 points off a Champions league position. Their opponents tonight (Palermo) are just 4 points off the relegation zone, and will most likely be setting up to play a counter attacking tactic in the hope of frustrating Roma. Roma should be the driving force in this game, and they seem to be able to break opponents down now, so it should be a matter of time before they get a goal today, and that should lead to a win for the home side.

Our second selection (Ajax) also don't have any midweek European competition distractions to potentially affect their performance, and they also have the massive incentive of closing the gap on league leaders PSV to just 1 point. Ajax have been very strong at home this season, having won 9 of their 11 home league games with an impressive goals ratio of 31 for and just 7 against. Those figures actually give them the most dangerous attack and tightest defence in the league when having home advantage, which they have today. It's that combination of being able to score freely yet not concede often that makes them so dangerous. Their opponents today (Excelsior) are struggling in the bottom 3 of the league, with their main problem being their lack of ability to score goals, averaging just 1 goal per game, which may not sound too bad but in the high scoring Netherlands league it is considered a low average. Ajax have already beaten Excelsior 2-0 away from home earlier in the season in a one sided match, so if this game goes anything like it should, it should be a very comfortable win for Ajax.
