Ath Bilbao v Real Sociedad - Goal line (Over 1.5)

These matches can be found in the Italy and Spain Leagues.

Our first selection (AS Roma) are one of the few big names today who don't have European distractions midweek. They have improved a lot since the return of Spalletti. His more attacking brand of football seems to be making a real difference now. He didn't get off to the best of starts with a draw and a loss (to Juventus), however they have won their next 4 games, and are showing signs that the team are starting to get used to Spalletti's tactical differences compared to their previous Manager Rudi Garcia. They have scored 10 goals in their last 4 league games, which is not something that happens often for most Italian teams, and they have plenty of incentive to push for the win today as they are only 2 points off a Champions league position. Their opponents tonight (Palermo) are just 4 points off the relegation zone, and will most likely be setting up to play a counter attacking tactic in the hope of frustrating Roma. Roma should be the driving force in this game, and they seem to be able to break opponents down now, so it should be a matter of time before they get a goal today, and that should lead to a win for the home side.

Our second selection (Goal line - Over 1.5) should stand a good chance considering the teams involved in this fixture. Before their last home match against Villarreal, Ath Bilbao's 7 previous home games in all competitions contained a massive 31 goals, which is an average of 4.4 goals per game. Now from time to time a 0-0 scoreline will pop up, but that is the same with any team, and just the natural risk involved in the goals market, but the majority of the time, Ath Bilbao's games usually contain at least 2 goals. Their opponents today (Real Sociedad) would have put me off from this selection under their previous manager Moyes, however under Sacristan they are a completely different team. Every one of their games under Sacristan have contained 2 or more goals, and in their last 3 games they alone have scored a massive 10 goals. I actually see this as a decent "both teams to score" opportunity, however i feel going for over 1.5 total goals is the safer option.
