We've had some tricky results the last couple of days, so i am posting this particular double as just a suggestion, as i would like to see a bit of normality return to the results before i start back with the official "Tipster's Doubles". so if you have any doubts, just wait for the next official "Tipster's Double".
Double:
Bradford v Southend - Asian handicap (+1 Southend)
Oxford Utd v Northampton - Asian handicap (+1 Northampton)
At time of posting, odds were 1.86
These matches can be found in the English Leagues 1 and 2.
Our first selection (Southend) are outsiders for this match, however i believe them to be very strong outsiders, and the beauty of picking the outsider is the amount of cover you can apply to the bet. With a +1 asian handicap the bet only loses if our selection loses by 2 or more goals. If you're unfamiliar with asian handicaps, you can learn more
HERE. Now the first factor that should make this bet quite safe is that Southend's opponents (Bradford) don't score many when playing at home, just 14 goals from 13 home games, therefore it is fairly unlikely they will beat Southend by 2 or more goals even if they do win the match. That is compounded by the fact that Bradford have only beaten 1 team in the league at home by more than 1 goal this season, and that was relegation threatened Crewe. On top of that, Southend have a decent away record, only losing 4 of their 15 away games so far this season, 2 of which by 2 or more goals. So I think this will be a close game, with good potential for a draw, so even if our selection does lose, i should be unlikely to be by more than 1 goal.
Our second selection (Northampton) are also the outsiders for this match, despite being top of League 2 by 5 points, with a game in hand, and winning their last 7 straight League matches. Northampton have impressive away form of 9 wins, 3 draws, and only 2 losses all season, and they average over 2 goals per game, which makes it difficult for any team to beat them by 2 or more goals. In fact, their away record is better than the home record of tonight opponents (Oxford Utd). Of Oxford's 6 home wins, this season, 3 have been by 2 or more goals, and each of those were against teams who currently sit in the bottom half of the table, so it should be a little more tricky to be able to achieve that against the team who is currently top of the league. I think the +1 asian handicap should make this selection very safe also, it may well be another tight game, but it's unlikely either team will dominate enough to win by more than 1 goal.
