Our first selection (Bayern Munich) need no introduction really, one of the strongest teams in the world, currently managed by Pep Guardiola who many believe to be the best manager in the world, although it would be nice if he tried managing a team that doesn't have the best players and the most money. Anyway, the fact is that on their day, they are good enough to beat anyone. They have a 5 point lead over Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga I, so they can't slack off from their league priorities just yet, and they will be looking to bounce back with a win after their recent blip (0-0 draw) against Leverkusen. Today's opponents (Augsburg) actually have more success than most against Bayern but they are struggling in the league, just 1 point off the relegation zone, and have only 5 wins from 20 league games. Augsburg have scored just 2 points from their last 3 matches, and scored only 1 goal, so their current form isn't great. With that in mind, their is no reason to think their should be an upset on the cards today, therefore i expect a comfortable Bayern win.
Our second selection (Freiburg) are currently 2nd in the Bundesliga II and have their sights set on automatic promotion back up to the Bundesliga I. They are the strongest team in the league when playing at home, with a home record of 7 wins, 2 draws, and just 1 loss, scoring an impressive 32 goals and conceding 14 in the process. Freiburg beat todays opponents (Dusseldorf) 2-1 away from home earlier in the season, so should certainly stand a good chance of repeating that win with home advantage this time. Dusseldorf are struggling in the league, just 3 points off the relegation zone. Their main problem being their lack of goals, scoring just 15 in 20 league matches. Away from home they have just 1 league win all season and just 6 goals in 10 games, so it will be a tough ask for them to get anything out of todays game against the team with the best home record. Barring upsets, this selection should be very safe, especially with the draw being covered just in case Dusseldorf manage to successfully park the bus.
