Our first selection (Celtic) are being kept on their toes by Aberdeen this year, level on points at the top of the table, but with a game in hand, so there is plenty of incentive to keep winning their league games. They have played todays opponents (Ross County) three times this season, with Celtic comfortably winning the two league encounters, however losing the most recent Cup encounter 3-1. That loss doesn't concern me too much though as Celtic were 1-0 up until they had a man sent off after only 13 minutes, which changed the pattern of the game completely. Celtic are very strong at home, losing just once in 12 league games this season, and scoring 36 goals yet conceding only 8 in the process. Ross County are not so good on the road, winning only 3 of their 12 away league games. This should be a straight forward win for Celtic today, and it would be very unlikely to see another upset like what happened in the Cup recently.
Our second selection (Hearts) are having a very strong season since their promotion back to the Scotland Premiership. They currently sit very securely in 3rd place in the league and have lost only one league game at home all season, against title contenders Aberdeen, not even Celtic managed to beat them last time out. They have scored in every one of their home games this season, so if a team is going to beat them, it's very likely they will have to score at least 2 goals to achieve it, and as todays opponents (Partick) score less than a goal per game on average away from home, it seems very unlikely they will have what it take to beat Hearts today. Partick are not a bad team, but they do struggle to score goals, and Hearts have scored more than twice as many goals this season. These two teams have played each other twice already this season, with Hearts winning 3-0 and 4-0, and looking at the current form of both teams, there is nothing to suggest there will be an upset today. I expect another Hearts win, and with the draw covered, this should be a very safe selection.
